If you are trying to get a document electronically notarized or remotely notarized in a state that doesn't currently have electronic or remote notary laws you have some options. If you are a commissioned notary in a state that doesn't allow e-notarizations, you will either have to wait for your state to pass new e-notary laws or contact your state legislature and demand them to update their laws.
For those in a state that doesn't allow them within state lines, you can always get your documents notarized with a Virginia notary that is e-notary capable. Virginia notaries are permitted within their state laws to perform remote notarizations for people outside their state as long as that person can pass the state required Id verification.
